The Garrison Fire Department was formally organized in October of 1936. Today the department is made up of 25 volunteers that donate a lot their time and energy to make our fire department one of the best in Benton County. Their meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at the Emergency Services building located on North Sycamore Avenue at 7:00 PM.

of the Naval Reserves, NMCB 25 from Waterloo, Iowa. The official dedication and open house for the building was held on October 15, 1994. It was, without a doubt the most gala celebration this community had seen in years. Following the ribbon cutting, in a special "housing" ceremony, the trucks were rolled into their new quarters.
