CITY OF GARRISON

REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

                                                 MARCH 5MAR<M5, 2007

 

   The regular meeting of the Garrison City Council was held Monday, March 5, 2007 at 7:00 PM.  Mayor Schellhase presided.  Council members present:  Kearns, Pattee,  Flickinger, Kirchner, Trimble.  Others present: Doug Peterson, Jeff Sasek.

   Pattee moved to approve the agenda and Clerk’s Financial Statements, seconded by Kearns.  Roll call vote:  Ayes:  Pattee, Kearns, Flickinger, Kirchner, Trimble.  Nays: None.  Motion carried.

   Pattee moved to approve and place on file the minutes of the regular meeting dated February 5, 2007, seconded by Flickinger.  Roll call vote:  Ayes: Pattee, Kearns, Flickinger, Kirchner, Trimble.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

   Mayor Schellhase announced that this was the time and place for a public hearing on the matter  of the proposed action on the Fiscal Year 2007-2008 annual budget.  There being no oral comments, objections or written comments filed, Mayor Schellhase closed the Public Hearing at 7:08 PM.

   Trimble introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption, seconded by Kirchner. Roll call vote:  Ayes: Pattee, Kearns, Flickinger, Kirchner, Trimble.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.  Whereupon the Mayor declared the following duly adopted:  Resolution No. 2007-02, entitled “A RESOLUTION APPROVING CITY OF GARRISON’S ANNUAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008”.  Passed and approved this 5th day of March 2007.

   Guest Petersen and Council discussed the  penalties, time and due date of the utility bills.  It was the consensus of Council that the  rules that apply at present will remain as set forth.

   Kirchner moved to accept the insurance renewal for 2007, seconded by Trimble.  Roll call vote:  Ayes: Pattee, Kearns, Flickinger, Kirchner, Trimble.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

   Other items of discussion:  Citizens not removing their cars from the streets during snow storms; the participation and dedication of certain volunteers during February’s power outage and the need to reimburse these individuals for their help during the crisis.

  Trimble moved to approve the claims list dated March 5, 2007, seconded by Pattee. Roll call vote:  Ayes:  Pattee, Kearns, Flickinger, Kirchner, Trimble.  Nays: None.  Motion carried.

  There being no further business before council, Mayor Schellhase adjourned the meeting at 7:55 PM.  All in favor.
